Effective Date: March 30, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to ZenNami. We provide a browser extension designed to enhance your focus through lofi music and ambient soundscapes. Your privacy is a fundamental part of our design. This policy outlines how we handle data when you use our extension and our associated website, zennami.com.

2. Information We Collect

We believe in data minimization. We only collect the information necessary to provide and improve the ZenNami experience.

A. Information You Provide

Direct Correspondence: If you contact us for support or feedback, we may retain your email address and the contents of your message to assist you.

B. Automatically Collected Information (via Google Analytics)

To understand how ZenNami is used and to improve our product, we use Google Analytics. This service collects:

  • Technical Data: Browser type, version, device category, and preferred language.
  • Approximate Location: General geographic information (City/Country level) derived from IP addresses. We do not collect precise GPS location data.

C. Local Storage

ZenNami saves your preferences locally on your device using the chrome.storage API. This data is stored only on your machine and is never transmitted to our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Core Functionality: To remember your settings and provide a seamless audio experience.
  • Analytics & Improvements: To identify which soundscapes are most popular and to debug technical performance issues.
  • Communication: To respond to your support requests or inquiries.

4. Third-Party Disclosures

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. We share data only with Google Analytics to process aggregate usage statistics. Google’s use of information is governed by their own Privacy Policy.

5. Browser Permissions

ZenNami requests the following permissions to function:

  • storage: Required to save your local focus preferences.
  • offscreen / audio: Required to maintain high-quality audio playback while the extension popup is closed.
  • scripting: Used only if necessary to integrate focus tools with your active browsing session.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect any data we handle. Because we do not maintain a central database of user profiles, the risk of a personal data breach is significantly minimized.

7. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

  • The right to access the data we have on you.
  • The right to request the deletion of your data.
  • The right to opt-out of tracking via browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out tool.
